I have some basic stuff mapped out. To really make it quality I'll have to make custom terrain textures. Unit textures could be photos of units and later retextured. I don't have any funding set up for it as of yet as I'm really just learning Unity, but I thought making a game of something I enjoy would be a great way of killing two birds with one stone. It would probably take a few months to set up correctly. I'd also probably look into what exactly I could do with it. Ideally I would like to set up a basic AI for solo play or a campaign of sorts. But the largest part will be coding a fairly unpredictable AI and gathering decent textures. I appreciate the feedback though, I will definitely go forward with it
Sitting and listening to "Those were the days" first of three broadcasts about D-Day (http://www.nostalgiadigest.com/those%20were%20the%20days.htm)And looking over the D-Day Scenarios. Out of curiosity I put the scenarios into a timeline based on the times given in each scenario.
AAM D-day Scenario Timeline
0130 DD1 Pegasus Bridge 0745 DD3 Regina Rifles at Nan-Green 0800 DD5 The Bluffs at Fox-Green 0900 DD2 Strike at “WXYZ” DD4 Sword Beach Liberation 1500 DD6 Flanking Le Hamel 1800 DD7 First Hussar Ambush
Never forget!
As the Scenarios Mod, thanks for doing this (and for sharing the link)! I'll have to go through and make sure I didn't miss posting any to the Forum. Think I have a Band of Brothers D-Day scenario.

Hi folks!
With today, as you know, being the 75th Anniversary of D-Day, I was wondering how fellow Foruminians are honoring those that sacrificed so much for us.
For myself, I started today like every morning of June 6 since the film was released by watching the Omaha Beach scene from Saving Private Ryan. To me, this is the closest to the real thing (as it's been written about and talked about) that I've seen on the Big Screen that depicts what it was like on that horrible day (if you've seen something better, please let me know). As a teacher, I think EVERY high school American History student should be required to watch this (with parental permission of course) so it can give them just a tiny taste of what their ancestors went through to give them the freedom that they continue to enjoy. During lunch, I watched this short, excellent, and moving film about one of the last surviving paratroopers from the Normandy Invasion. If you don't start to get a little emotional at the end, there is something wrong with you. You can watch the movie here: D-Day ParaTrooper Film. You can also read about him here: Leslie Cruise Story. When I get home tonight after I put the kids to bed, I plan on watching Parts 2 ("Day of Days") and 3 ("Carentan") of The Band of Brothers miniseries and as much of The Longest Day that I can get through until I pass out.

There also was a good solo scenario that was posted many years ago on the original AH Forum. It's Japanese vs. U.S. I still have a paper copy; I'll try and scan it in this week and put it at least in DropBox. I think it's one that you could tinker with and use in any Theater during WWII.

Keep the Polish units coming!
I guess the question is how much is a CA of 4 worth? In other words, if you compare your Polish biker with the German BMW R75 from the Counter Offensive set, they're identical except that the Kraut version has that CA. That, and it's worth 6 points.
I would keep your unit at 4 points; but, if you do decide to increase it, I wouldn't go more than 5 points.

First, thanks for making this card. Can't get enough Polish units!!
Second, my initial reaction would be to consider increasing the point value for the unit from "4" to "5". I'm basing this on 3 cards/units:
(1) The Italian Alpine Troop is the same as your Polish Rifleman, except he throws one less die at Medium range (5 instead of 6) and has a Close Assault (CA) of 5 instead of 6. Thus, why it's worth 4 points.
(2) The French Alpine Troop as you know is worth 6 points mainly because it's a 5/5 unit. Otherwise, it has the same stats as the Polish version (9/6, CA of 6, and Mountaineering SA).
Just taking those 2 cards into account, I think the Podhale Rifleman is somewhere in between these 2. The extra die at Medium range is a BIG deal, and the extra CA die doesn't hurt either. Thus, it should be worth 5 points in my opinion.
(3) Of course, when I'm also looking at creating cards, I always look at what Sharpe has done, as I know you do. His Podhale Rifle card reads as follows (I'm posting the card here so others can see the stats):
5 points 4/4 AI 8/6/3 AV 2/-/-
CA 6 Steely Resolve 2 "Alpine" SA: "Unit gets +1 attack die against unit in a hill; enemy gets -1 attack die vs unit in a hill. Unit may reroll all Movement rolls except crossing streams."
In this case, the comparison is a little more complicated. If we compare it with yours, the all important Medium range dice are the same, and both units have the same CA, plus Steely Resolve. It's the same cost as yours for 1 less die at Close Range, with a somewhat more powerful SA ("Alpine" vs. Mountaineering). The two units are trading the bonus attack die (or negative attack die in the case of an enemy) for not being able to cross streams, which may or may not be a big deal depending on the scenario. Your Podhale unit would be just as powerful with Sharpe's if the fighting is taking place in a hilly area, where fighting from one Hill hex to another will be at Close Range.
Ultimately, I'd be fine with keeping it at 4 points, but I think you should make it 5. Just my two cents.
Before Outpost Eagle and I try out a scenario(s) this weekend, I just wanted to confirm...the maps are 3" hexes, right?
Yes, the hexes are 3 inches in width. Which scenario will you be trying out?
We were going to start with Midtskogen and Gratangen...if time permits, we'll try Tretten or Fortress Hegra. However, is there a specific one that you'd like for us to take for a "spin"?
Thanks to those who participated in this poll. I also e-mailed a number of gaming friends with the same choices. I combined their 6 responses with these poll results and here is what I came up with:
The top three were pretty clear cut in terms of votes while the last three were nearly tied. The idea for the Bagn battle is better off being developed another day. It is fairly large in terms of area and forces involved. It would probably run a lot longer than 2 hours play time. Faced with two mountain assault scenarios, it’s not surprising that most voters leaned to the idea of just having one done. I think Kuberget beat out Kobberfjell simply because the first one mentions Fallschirmjagers on the German side. It’s also a much more straight forward battle, so it will be easier to design & produce.
Thanks again to everyone who took the time to vote.
Ah man! Can I vote several times for the Ankenes Peninsula action? Please, please!! I was born in Chicago afterall!

Been meaning to reply again for a while, but life has gotten in the way. *SIGH*
Anyway, I have some other possible ideas for you. One of the very first card makers on the original WOTC website (before the FIRST Forumini) was "Sharpe". His "Sharpedia" had hundreds and hundreds of cards (maybe over a 1,000...never stopped to count).
He had 4 cards that I thought might help:
(1) 442nd RCT
This is the Nisei (i.e. 2nd-generation Americans) unit comprised of Japanese-Americans from Hawaii and the Mainland US. It is the MOST decorated unit for its size and length of service in US Military History, including 21 Medals of Honor!
Speed: 1 Def: 4/4 AI: 9 8 - AV: 2 - -
Close Assault 8 Steely Resolve 2 Hard Charger "Medal of Honor" (this is what I thought you'd be most interested in!) - When unit is attacked, roll 2 dice. On 11+, place US controlled Honor-Bound Hero in hex. Resolve overstacking in next Movement Phase.
(2) Alaska Scouts
Sharpe gave this unit an SA of:
"Blending In" - When in cover, unit cannot be attacked by vehicles or indirect fire at long range.
(3) Solomon Islands Constable This card is based on the incredible story of Jacob Vouza.
Speed: 2 Def: 5/5 AI: 9 7 5 AV: - - -
Hero Hand-Hand 12 Superior Camouflage [There was also an SA called "Home in the Jungle", but I don't think that would apply in your case].
(4)Doomed Lancer
This was a Polish Cavalry unit, so I won't list the stats, as they'll be different from an Infantry unit. The SAs were:
Hero Hand-Hand 12 "Savage" - Unit may make TWO Hand-to-Hand attacks in its Assault Phase.
Again, I don't think any one card would work, except for the 442nd RCT perhaps [maybe use that card with a Camo SA or two?]...my goal is to give you SAs to consider so you can think about the best combo.

Hola gents!
A fellow Foruminian just asked me how I store my AAM maps. I thought I'd share my response with everyone in the hopes that it might be helpful to others, and I also wanted to see if anyone had other ideas.
I lay the old 2" maps FLAT in two BIG Scotch bubble mailers (12.5" X 18"). When not in use, I keep the NA and EF 3" map sets folded up in their original packaging in one of the Bubble mailers as well [see link below]:
