If you add the Landing value to the dice roll, you have benefited from that ability this turn. This would prevent the ship in question from earning bonus victory points and also prevent invading an Installation with that unit.

Whoa. Now that is a "clarification" I have never heard before. As flak said, the Installation SA is just pulling the value from the Landing Ability. The Landing Ability itself is not being used. That is my interpretation anyway.
As to adding the "clarification." I am not opposed when we think it is really necessary. But SA word length is an important issue on many cards from a space perspective. It is always good to have an SA be as concise as possible. That said, clarity is more important the brevity. But familiarity with the rules is also a requirement of the player.

A player trying to apply the penalty to a ship that isnt targetted by an attack is within the spirit of the game. Thats not a need for clarity. Its a lack of sportmanship.

You don’t have to be a rules L. to acknowledge that if a Ship destroys an Installation because it has a Landing ability, it has benefited from the Landing ability.
I’m not calling names here, it’s just very clear what benefit means, i.e., you got something good out of it.
Okay, looking at the wording again I have to agree this SA would nullify the ability to attack an Installation. That makes sense since you are "disrupting" an invasion. That makes it a good thing this is once per game.
Disrupt Invasion - Once per game, when this unit attacks an enemy unit, you may declare that you're using Disrupt Invasion. If you do, your opponent can't benefit from that unit's Landing abilities this turn.

Back to the original discussion. AU's rewrite is actually shorter. But then some rules lawyer will probably argue the original version doesn't refer to the enemy unit!
No matter what we do a rules lawyer somewhere, sometime will try to create an advantage in a game that isn't there.

So where are we on this guys? I would like to wrap this up.
I personally default toward the original wording because I don't think the issue is big enough for a rewrite. It may not seem like such a big issue, but if we had revised SA wording every time a rewording has been suggested in the card making progress we would have a bunch of changed and inconsistent SAs by now. A few times it has been important enough to justify the change, but not often.
But I will go whatever way the consensus wants.

The M-class were an attempt to design a more balanced light cruiser than the preceding Leipzig and Nürnberg. Although 1,000 tons heavier, the M-class had the same armor and weaker armament than the previous light cruisers. The Kriegsmarine was still focused on building commerce raiders rather than fleet units. The combined diesel and turbine machinery was meant to provide long cruising range and short-term speed. Lack of shipyards only allowed three of the planned 12 ships to be started. However, construction was stopped with the start of the war and the hulls were eventually dismantled.

You have to write 3 because 12 is not spelled out.
