Does anyone have access to the old thread that featured how people had fixed their Bismarcks by buffing up the turrets and adding putty to the sides to get rid of the flare?
As seen in the subject line, I am looking for a Scharnhorst, an Admiral Hipper, and a Saratoga. I am willing to buy or trade for these units. I have a ton of minis so please PM me with what you are looking for if you have any of these and I'll see if I can help. Again, I am willing to buy. Thanks!
Just did a convoy battle scenario with the RN and the KM. The RN pulled off the win, but it was at heavy cost. It really is incredible to me how this game still manages to surprise even though I've played it for so long.
Would one be able to upload these to Shapeways and print them off there?
You could certainly do that. It's easy to create an account and upload any STL files. Shapeways would automatically check the files against their design rules (making sure walls are thick enough or the supports are in the right places, etc.) and tell you which materials could be used to create the unit. Further, you'd pay cost instead of marked up prices.
However, you might be better off using the guy Ghukek uses to print out his models, xpforge.com/
I imagine his price would be lower than Shapeways' price...even at cost.
I used their free download file to upload to shapeways for a price estimate. Pretty surprising results. Only $10 for HMS Queen Mary in 1/1500 scale in WSF, and $6.50 in 1/1800.
My kitbashed IJN Hiryu I got off eBay that someone made with a Soryu. I love how it fits thematically with the other units in a way shapeways just sometimes can't.
Hey everyone, as you know I've had a YouTube channel for War at Sea for some years now, but I've recently begun producing videos that tell the history of ships, battles, and other aspects of naval warfare. The link is in my bio, please check it out if you have the time, and if you have any suggestions for future videos please let me know!
According to their most recent Instagram post, Fireforge Games is launching a Kickstarter for their new Battlefleet WWII Pacific game in 1/1850 scale at the end of summer! Exciting to see that there will actually be market competition between Victory at Sea (Warlord Games) and Battlefleet!
It's been so awesome to be with now so many other W@S enthusiasts on Instagram. Even if just showcasing the game, it helps put the mood out there for perhaps another WWII naval miniatures series!
