Is anyone interested in playing in another FFFL game after the latest deck is complete? I imagine that would be a start time sometime in, hopefully early, 2018.
I am contemplating some rule changes that may encourage more trading. That is some feedback we've had in the past--few trades. I understand the desire by some to have trades, but I also know that once you get a fleet together you like, you may not want to trade. Rather than a punishment system (forcing trades etc.) a reward system may be better. Perhaps after a certain number of eligible trades you open up one or more wildcard slots for non-capital units etc. I am always interested in ideas.
I think we ran the very first game with 8 players, so we can run a FFFL league no matter the number of interested players. However, we've steadily been adding cards since the first game (which was just WotC units), so with more units and fewer players, almost everyone will have rosters of just power units rather than a nice mix. Depending on the interest level, I may also try to figure out how to restrict the units available to keep it competitive.
Prizes for playing have depended on the generosity of the organizers (firesdstny and me in varying degrees) and other generous benefactors (painters and purchasers--weedsrock was instrumental for the 2016-2017 season, among a couple other individuals). I know that has always been a draw, so we will keep trying to see if there is something that can be offered, but there are no guarantees. Hopefully the joy of playing and the coveted title is enough.
As said, this is probably half-a-year out, so you are not binding yourself to anything now. Feel free to comment or ask questions!
