This is the Romanian version of the Italian Sparviero. Sparvs were a bit different, but this was the export version. I wasn't able to find too much on what they did during the war, do you folks have anything to add?

Heaps, they were assigned to coastal command in 42? As the threat from Russian naval landings became more serious. The B1 had an extra 20mm cannon who he’d they used in shipping attacks. They would bomb the target then strand them with the 20mm as they dropped the bombs.

Sparv has 5 8 1. The real difference is the tri motor is gone and replaced with 2xDB engines from Germany. Will that effect armour rating?

One problem is the Sparviero should never have been 5/8/1 in the first place. I think RB bumped it to give the Italians some game balance. He didn't give a 5 armor to any other Patrol Bomber in his sets. Although I could make an argument for 4/7/1 I think this needs to be a 4/8/1 at best.

So was is faster because of less drag, slower from less hp, or roughly the same? 5 is probably a gameplay buff by RB. So 4 plus a SA might be the sweet spot

If RB gave the Spar a 5, this should probably be a 5. If it was a nod to gameplay, why take it back? This game isn't a historical recreation by any stretch.

The Teams have done 5 armor Patrol Bombers before. The Ki-67 Peggy for example.

From what I've been able to find, the twin engine version was slightly slower (19 less mph, about 180 less HP). Not sure how big a deal that really is.

Provides a solution to both sides.

I guess I'm here nor there on 5/8/1 or 4/8/1+LDA. As a twin engine vice three engine plane, this and the existing SM.79 are pretty different aircraft to begin with. I don't know that the stats have to be an exact mirror image. And I have to imagine this isn't going to be anything like the torpedo-flinger the Spar is. Regardless of armor, 6 bombs isn't going to set the world on fire.
