Yeah, it doesn't really affect the Rufe much (especially flying at night), but weaker planes with Sea Basing can't "hide" by staying on or flying to the land airbase. So if you don't have numerical air superiority, they're vulnerable.
Sea Basing - This unit can base only in a coast or an island sector on your side of the map. Don't place a Rearming counter on this unit during your Air Return step.
Spotter - At the beginning of your Air Attack step, you may choose an enemy Ship within range 2. Your Ships roll one extra attack die when attacking that ship at range 2 or greater with their main Gunnery attack this turn.

While conducting anti-submarine patrols over the Danish Straits, two Arado Ar 196s and one He 115 forced the already heavily damaged submarine HMS Seal to surrender on 30 April 1940. The same squadron also forced the submarine HMS Shark to scuttle on 6 July 1940. The aircraft was nicknamed the “Mädchen flür alles” (Maid-of-all-work) by her crews. The Ar 196 was used for ship- and land-based reconnaissance, anti-submarine patrol, small ship attack, convoy protection, courier duty, air-sea rescue, and even anti-partisan operations. The ubiquitous German floatplane operated in every theatre of the European war from start until finish.

Yup. This comes up frequently. It goes in the same column as why Subs and Ships with one hull point bother to have a vital armor value.
It's just not worth worrying about with such low attack values IMO.
Not that the unit is out of line with any of its values; as you say you have a lot of very little!!!
I just see units of this ilk more in the light of the Myrt low cost for its value;; the SA's
Great SA's with this unit, if you want to spend 7 pts. i don't see the value, i'm sure some will.
Again a good job at covering all the unit models and what they could do, but to me units as this are better single functioning::
Save the Whales save the Cost!!
I agree the "Swiss Army knife" units have their issues. Where they become useful is in multi-round tournament play where you are likely to be facing different build archetypes each round. Even so, in this case the attack table values are pretty weak in any category so it can still be tough to buy them into a build. That is why I leaned toward rounding the cost down rather than up. But I think Spotter is a pretty good SA for surface-heavy builds. The rest is just sprinkles on the icing IMO.
It is time for you guys to review your first card.
Please keep several things in mind:
1. This step is for finding typos, errors in transcription, layout issues, spelling, etc.
2. The front of the card is what matters! Only the front of the card is applicable to the actual game. We especially need to make sure everything is correct on the front.
3. The back of the card is for fun. We still want it to be correct, but it is not critical to the game.
4. This is not a process for changing the card unless you find a terrible game related problem. At this point the card should be playtested, voted on, approved, and locked.
All of that said, please review the card carefully and post any problems or errors you see. I definitely want to get it right. I look at the card so much while laying it out that I get "blinded" to the content at times.
