I would just like all you honest opinions and would rather no one reply to anyone else's posts. If there's conversation to be had, we can start a new thread
How do you feel about minor nations in the team decks? Do you think its getting to be too many per deck? Not enough?

I know people are very passionate about them and I do like them in small quantities with smaller nations from the commonwealth, Netherlands, Finland etc I can even get into the Spanish fleet as sort of a what if Spain got involved but moving into the South American neutrals is a bit too much IMO. 10-15 percent of the deck is good for me.
Chinese cruisers Ning Hai and Ping Hai would be okay I would even like the sunk Spanish battle ships from the civil war to a small degree.
Any unit has to stand on its merits, adding units just to represent nation X is a bad idea. I think we've hit the mark pretty well.
RB didnt feel it neccesary to include every bation in every deck and neither should we
I agree we don't have to put every nation in every deck. In fact, I think it would be a bad idea because they would take too many slots.
I do have to disagree on all units needing to stand on their merits. By that criteria we would have very few minor nation units or anyone's auxiliaries or escort ships. I am fine with a small percentage of "bookmark" scenario units that are just for the fans. Realistically, no more than 25% of the cards in any of the decks or sets are really tournament competitive either. There just needs to be a balance across all segments. However, there is never a place for a tournament breaking unit IMO.

I agree with that, by merits i mean either game or history.
I'd like to see every class of warship in the world during WWII represented before we are done. I'd rather see new South American destroyer classes than cards for the missing South Dakotas and King Georges.
I don't so much care if they are playable or tournament worthy, I just want the classes all represented.
I like the minor nations in the game. It’s cool to get a few cards in each set. When my gaming group used to get together we would use the minors mainly in scenario matches or if we used the OOB that was made in the old forum.
Some minors are cool - particularly ones with high influence on the war (Netherlands, Aussie). Others IMO don't rate. I would rather not have done Brazil last set, or Spain the set before as their impact on Naval WW2 was minimal at best. Some people want them, and it is not my place to deny that, and I certainly support it....but to me those cards are useless no matter how much window-dressing we put on them. They don't see play unless they are forced into play in my experience.
I think it's important to include more than just the Big7...but there are definitely levels of minor nations also. For me - Good = Netherlands, Aussie, Canada, Greek, Finland, Sweden OK (could go either way) - Poland, Norway, Romania Could do without - Spain, Brazil, NewZealand, Thai, Turkey, Chile, Argentina, China, Mexico, Ireland, etc.
I don't mean to diminish the heroism or sacrifices or contributions of those other units/nations/etc. I just don't feel that the contributions (or what if impacts) were significant enough to be worth the development time.
China was a pretty important in ww2 maybe not big 7 but i would say the most underrated. Their surface fleet was almost entirely sunk by the Japanese as well.
