Know how that can be, did several chores yesterday myself. Just to say this, your mentioning YOUR table rules as to accepting things as offered, quite the outspoken one there..not really any big deal but did come as a surprise & unexpected....so, with that said, the Vodka game does not have a clear winner since, by the rules of the game, the objective is Contested since there are enemy units adjacent to the objective. That being the rules & you are being a bit of a stickler to table rules & whatnot...we should finish that game off to have a CLEAR winner & not a contested objective. Also, you said Expanded Rules will ALWAYS be used, am I to figure this also means the Optional rules are also in this statement..Grazing Fire, Enfilade etc or are those to be agreed on prior to play? These are Friendly games...not tournaments, where there is more involved. Just some of my thoughts here...let's keep it friendly shall we...
Good Morning..I think...quite strident there my friend...no biggie. I have a 12 unit build ready to go..was just asking. These are friendly games after all.
How about use the original/Advanced rule on page 10 of the Advanced Rules of maximum of 15 units & only 3 vehicles? Just throwing stuff at the wall to see if it sticks... Are formations allowed?
Did you get to look at the album of maps for AAM Online Play? Some really nice ones there..now the big question...do you have a way & ability to upload them & make them work on here? I counted 21 maps there.
As to the previous post, perhaps do 50 or so points of infantry & toss in a couple tanks..maybe some of builds like Captain John Miller used to do on the old forum...he called them "Vanilla 100 Point Builds"..about 50 or so points of infantry & a smattering of artillery & a couple tanks...pretty basic but were good learning builds & look like they would play fairly quickly as well. Maybe a 2 sheet map set up to give some range to things. Can you post any of the old 2" maps to use...I always liked them. They had some good range & interesting fields of fire.
Not a problem here my friend. Shall we do a few more 50 point infantry scuffles till we get fully comfortable with the system & whatnot? I have a bunch of those 50 point infantry builds I posted long ago on the Underground I'd enjoy test driving. Your call on this..I am happy to just be getting some gaming in however it may be. We can always revisit this particular scenario in the future.
On a break from yard work today & had a few minutes to look the scenario over. I see we enter play according to map set up rule #2 for the Americans & map set up rule #3 for the Germans. Broke out the rule book to look those up but could not find them in the rule book or on the scenario sheet. Am I missing something somewhere?
I can see the hexes..a bit faint but visible. It might take me a few more minutes to count out moves & determine where I am at on the map but I can see the hex sides & coordinates. I can enlarge the map & zoom in so it won't be too difficult to figure it all out. I am guessing we enter on the road in our set up areas & proceed to go from there as desired..is this correct? Yellow highlighted hex is the objective I also am guessing. Since we do not have the Depression hexes, ignore that Special Rule?
Sorry if it seemed so...again, I am not trying to make this difficult or be a problematic player, actually just trying to get others involved in any way possible. Again, I am truly sorry if it seems so. Greyhounds for Humbers, M1919 for the Vickers please. I have some chores & things to do this morning, so I will be back later.
True, it is just a game & as I said, I am not trying to be a pain in the buns at all. I do apologize if it seems so. On a side note, I see you are about to get a promotion to Lieutenant here...congrats!
Just a thought here...perhaps we could use triggermike as an arbiter for things...since he used me as an "Advisor" for his Gilbert Islands game(s)..I think it is only fair to get him involved here...payback...lol...thanks Mike, no good deed ever goes unpunished.. Is this acceptable with you Herr Ober?
I am not trying to be difficult about this at all, forgive me if it seems so. A) Historically Correct B) Much better AV numbers for the Greyhound...Humber is 2/2/2 vs Greyhound 9/7/5 If you are agreeable to the swap, then I would rather take the Greyhounds & M1919 for this.
Substitute anything I want...Humbers for Greyhound Armored Cars also? I only ask because Humbers are UK & Greyhounds are USA...it is sad these were never really updated. I have also noticed many Eastern Front scenarios are lacking the Maxim MG in them. Just out of curiosity, were these created before the scale change & the last 5 sets came out...I know the Maxim was in North Africa & the M1919 was also North Africa. Just observations from a still relative newbie..I only found this game in 2010, just about the time WotC quit making it.
