So guys has anyone made a 'breakout' scenario? I was thinking like the Channel Dash or the Bismark breaking out of the North Sea. I have some general ideas for rules and point scoring but would like to see other peoples ideas. I am farting around with scenario game, will post photos and a log later this week.
**Update**
So after playing a 200 point game and trying it out I have come up with a simple set of rules and scoring for the breakout scenario. It kind of plays out like a mad rush or a rugby game - its not nice. It also provides for points of units that escape and also only gives half points that get pushed back. Since this is in development, pick the nit....
**Rules 1.0**
Breakout Opposing forces place as they normally would for a regular game. The forces should be equal depending on the agreed upon amount of points. The object of the scenario is for the defender to keep units from making it to the breakout zone and surviving one round to exit the map.
Points: 50 - Attacker manages to get one capital sized ship to break out (battleship, heavy cruiser, or carrier (aircraft 2)). 50 - Defender manages to keep all capital ships from breaking out.
Attacker gets points equal to unit costs for each unit that breaks out (including aircraft based on units). Defender gets half cost of every unit they push back to the deployment zone.
Each side gets normal points for any units destroyed during the battle.
Red - Attacker Deploy Zone Blue - Defender Deploy Zone Green - Breakout Zone
That looks interesting. It so happens several of us at the Des Moines and St. Louis game clubs came up with a Channel Dash scenario to use at Origins Game Fair this year. We have to keep the scenarios pretty simple for Cons because communications are limited. Both clubs playtested the scenario and it seemed to work okay with a little tweaking.

I am going to try to run it again in a day or two. What I found with the first round is the point spit is really close which I honestly feel is more exciting. Like I said in the original post I like the feel like a grudge match and would also like to explore and idea of a gauntlet run with some defending units having 2 squares to deploy along one side of the map.
