some thoughts i wanted to share to what i'd like to see
i expect the majors to get a big fighting ship, or at least a big mould as well as a moderately large fighting ship.
Minor navies the objective is to get them to a decent 100 point fleet for a basic rule game. for example, im proposing a greek battleship they wanted prior ww1 and a turkish counter to the averoff. fills those fleets out a bit. australia needs a sub. i'd concede to having they K9 just to get that important fleet build flexibility
Class completion and checkboxing classes are not priorities other than in general aim to make sure there's little bit of everything. i'd expect a maximum of a single small MINES/CONVOY/LANDING ship for any given navy.
Ijn has a landing ship, landing craft tender, oiler, repairship, 2 seaplane carriers and a aux cruiser already.
What are the missing?
Only thing I can think of is troopships, mine warfare vessels, hellships and other speciality merchant ships. I read on Combined Fleet once of a merchant ship that only carried 18 inch shells for the Yamato class.

The Germans might use some auxiliaries in the form of seaplane tenders. Germany doesn’t have carriers really but the luftwaffe did use lots of seaplane tenders. Something like a German Chitose that can launch seaplane attacks, or otherwise has the ability to base one aircraft squadron.
Someone also suggested for the soviets, the L-class submarines. Those would fill a role for the Russian navy and also be an interesting gimmick unit if we represent the fact that they’re minelayer submarines.
Was thinking tenders at the forefront really, which are still underrepresented across the board and offer a more useful auxiliary. Sub, DD, Seaplane tenders etc. Hoping too the IJN might have some other interesting, unique auxiliaries to potentially use, considering their wide stock of different vessel types used. Might have to dig.

Honestly for the Americans I'd rather see the last of the Pearl Harbor battleships in Oklahoma over another New Jersey class. Plenty of those in the game already. She was never repaired like the Arizona but well we do have an Arizona unit in the game.
Do you mean 5th Yamato Class? Kii last deck was the 4th Yamato ship. Anyway nothing is set in stone. If there is trouble scrouging units up for ITaly and Germany. I think captured ships or aircraft could be an option.
