SS Ohio Aux 1941 Speed 1 AA 4 A1 V6 H3 Vital Cargo 8?
This ship substituted a RFA fleet tanker.
Ohio was built for texaco as one of 8. She was requisitioned for operation pedestal to resupply malta an was a prime target for axis air attacks. Despite this she reached malta but broke in half after unloading and was scuttled postwar.
I propose a variant Early Sortie (vorisholov) Urgent Convoy - if its the first turn of the game, friendly local ships ignore the slow ability
Gives historical value, the urgency of the supply run, with the gameplay need the initial RFA tanker would have given.
A "Forceful Requisition" SA for use with UK fleets isnt needed by the rules but could be added
UNIQUELY TOUGH: Bomb attacks can't destroy this unit. This unit can't lose its last hull point to a Bomb attack, and Bomb attacks that equal or exceed this unit's vital armor cripple it instead. (Laffey, Australia)
SS Ohio Aux 1941 Speed 1 AA 4 A1 V6 H3 Vital Cargo 8 DETERMINATION: Whenever this unit would be destroyed, roll a die. On a 5 or higher, the destruction is prevented and this unit remains in the game with 1 hull point. CRITICAL SUPPLIES - Once per game you may remove a Rearming Marker from an aircraft or reroll a SLOW roll.
The pay offs from the supplies SA will be a boost. What about making it later in the game after a specific turn? I'm presuming this is to represent the cargo unloaded and used after the event. Urgent supplies name might look/sound better.
I did like the look of a possible critical convoy (possibly early) SA too. Insomuch as how it could help/boost other auxiliary types in particular, to potentially make them look more attractive and help get them into a game.
The weak spot is going to be the AA at 4. Unless it's protected this could be lost pretty quick. Desperate AA would have helped from that point of view and potentially surviving long enough for a later, triggering supply SA.
All in all this could be loaded out pretty good and possibly represents a chance for a playable auxiliary, that might help others of the same type.

"We went out, got our arses kicked, then came back again"
I'm just not sure about the supply SA as written. Representing the 'pay off' of from its journey prior to the event and from turn 1. Triggering from turn 4 etc. would at least represent this a little more realistically, then it would come back to keeping it alive. The AA SA would be a boost for a turn.
