So, i came across the Macoma card and realised that has a tanker ability as well. So i was thinking this could be further tweaked.
SS Ohio Aux 1941 Speed 1 AA 4 A1 V6 H3
DETERMINATION: Whenever this unit would be destroyed, roll a die. On a 5 or higher, the destruction is prevented and this unit remains in the game with 1 hull point.
HEAVILY ESCORTED : On turn 1, friendly local or adjacent battleships ignore the Slow ability.
VITAL SUPPLIES(MOD) - Once per game, if this unit is adjacent to a coast or island on your opponents side of the map. Choose a friendly fighter that has been destroyed. On a 4 or higher return the aircraft to play. (Your oppenent doesn't lose the victory points)
FORCIBLY REQUISITIONED: This unit can be included in a UK fleet. If you do, you loose initative on turn 1.
Built for the Texas Company, later known as Texaco in 1940. She is famed for her ardous journey to Malta during operation Pedastal. Having been siezed by Britush authorities, the tanker delivered desperately needed fuel to Malta but never sailed again.

Read through the thread and all the conversation. I like it, for what it’s worth.
If the numbers are swinging towards accepting I would say that's probably as good as were going to get at this stage. I still think at some point this will become marginalised to some extent if A. the UK does get a fleet tanker of its own in a team deck & B. other fan variant card(s) are done (if you use other cards) of a Pedestal specific 1942 version. Those happenings and with this one losing initiative etc. first turn in a UK specific fleet, would steer this more towards a US build but still second to Neosho or whatever.
This to me has ended like the Swordfish card, with us putting some square pegs into round holes to suit the gaming circumstances first. Just depends on individual outlook, gaming aspect VS historical etc. but never gonna please everyone regardless.

Yeah, Just looked at Neosho and 4 seems about right. Not much in it regarding SA suite but Ohio probably just edges it, no sea control etc. but Neosho is considerably superior top half Guns/D line.
