SUBMERGED SHOT: This unit can make Torpedo attacks against local enemy Submarines.
FIGHTING INSTINCT: When this unit damages or destroys an enemy Ship with its Torpedo attack for the first time, it rolls one extra attack die when making Torpedo attacks for the rest of the game.
HMS Truant had a busy war, fighting all three axis powers within the first three years of conflict. During the Norwegian Campaign she fatally crippled the light cruiser Karlsruhe. In the Mediterranean she sank several vessels over a prolonged period before being sent to the far east to try and disrupt the Japanese invasion areas, again sinking several auxiliaries. Throughout the war she survived several depth charge attacks, which coupled with being one of the few, first batch of T-Class boats to survive the war, earned her a veteran reputation.
Would also having the vet sub ability mentioned (fearless veteran better name?) affect cost too much? I like a defensive SA on this too and I'd see that ability as a lesser, cheaper version of ignore escorts.

Hmm, Truculent is obviously the comparison here and it's a go to unit, probably owing as much to the lack of UK subs in the wizard sets as anything. You would think it has multiple strong SAs, when it only has the one. That is going to squash things a little for a another cheap T class. I could get behind either of the above suggestions. Was trying to get the word veteran onto an ability but I suppose fighting instinct serves the purpose in a roundabout way, albeit offensively instead of defensively. If just aiming to have one ability then this is strong enough to be it. The veteran ability above as is, I see as a weaker SA, almost a half SA. So it's either 1 SA or 1.5 SA(s). To me it wouldn't represent two bag busting SAs but again depends where we wanna go in comparison.

I would see this at similar cost to Truculent if the torp line is the same and if its confirmed the extra torp tube was added to the first batch for the date?

Wasn't sure on the torps. When looked at wiki a while back it wasn't particularly clear and seemed to be leaning for retro fitted tubes (as later classes) at an early date.
As is, this gains the early war date for less torp compared with Truculent.

I agree with an earlier entry date and the slightly lower torp line that Truculant. As for points, if it comes in 1or 2 points less than Truc then it is good...
Truculent has the Set 1 disease like many ships of being overcosted. In all honesty, Truculent should be 1-2 points cheaper...

Truant and early war T-class subs had more reliable torps than contemporary German subs or U.S.subs. Should this be a factor in the proposed torp line?
