Looks like things are about to get spicy. Take note somewhere of however much Vital Cargo or troops you brought to Bougainville, if you haven't already.
In the Air Movement Phase, do my aircraft enter the map, then move to their target(s)? I assume my aircraft enter from the upper part of the north side.
Place them normally and just take the rough direction that they came from, in this case a little north of due west (say from C1 ish on this map).
I'm considering getting rid of the direction rule and just saying that the player can decide which direction the aircraft approach from, since flying around ships to avoid AA was definitely a thing that was done.
The antiaircraft fire is absolutely ferocious for how little AAA is available, with US Marines even getting to the decks of their ships to open fire with their rifles, but this does little to stop the Japanese carrier aviators.
A typical day for a US Marine, surely someone can get a medal or two.
If you could now identify where the ground troops are, that would be epic, as I will use this to segway into a pre-invasion naval bombardment in the surface attack phase.

I'll keep the entire garrison of 8 troop points at Tulagi.
