Strong argument for at least Light Defensive Armament Was just about to go into full production as a carrier borne dive bomber when France fell to Germany. 10 were built
Light defensive armament is qualified by at least 6 machine guns.
Im not sure what youd do with this that the vindi and late are already providing.
Yeah, LDA is really meant for patrol bombers. The Helldiver is an anomaly (in so many ways!)
Late is a torpedo bomber and the Vindicator is American. Although the stats may be similar to Vindi, I think we should be able to come up with an SA that has some "French Flavor" like Elan.
The Vindicator already has that. Actually, Elan would work. It isn't quite as good as Press, but it was meant to be a "French" SA. We gave it to the US Marine Buffalo, but that was an obvious cultural/tradition connect as well.
ELAN: The first time this unit would be destroyed, roll a die. On a 5 or higher abort this unit instead.

No evidence that there was ever a plan to give it asw capabilities as well.
Airborne asw was in its infancy in 1939. Bombing a surfaced sub is not different to a ship. It cant be expected to radar other equipment that wasnt in service when france fell.

I agree the aircraft would have likely done ASW patrols around the carrier it is based on. In the game that ability seems to be more often given to torpedo bombers, but we missed that opportunity with the Br. 810. Two dive bombers have been given ASW attacks though. And the SBD-3 Dauntless has the ASW Bomber 2 special ability that was meant to cover the use of the Dauntless for ASW patrols around the carrier early in the war. How about that SA?

Finish Him Off - This unit rolls one extra attack die when attacking damaged Ships.
ASW Bomber 2 - Once per game, instead of making a Bomb attack during your Air Attack step, this unit can make a dice-2 ASW attack.
That puts two "once per game" SAs on the card which is not my preference. But at least one of them is the "first time" type that is easier to track.

Just give it the standard ASW2 value rather than the opg.
I would be fine with that. KISS.
If you think about where this would have operated off the Bearn (maybe) and Joffre in the Atlantic and Med it would almost certainly have been used for ASW patrols.
This is how most subs were sunk by aircraft early in the war. And many until the end of the war. They were caught and bombed while surfaced.
