Were those shore batteries for the campaign game they had on the forum using the minis games and the Guadalcanal AAM game? I miss those campaign games.
There may have been plans to have installations that weren't shore batteries. Or, looking at those two shore batteries, the possibility of having other land units in the naval games as coastal units. Maybe an SA for dealing extra damage to the Shore Battery, but not Installations? I'm thinking of the destroyers on D-Day sailing in close and engaging the German gun positions with direct fire.
