So just a bog stndard DD except for Convoy games? It will never be used...
Wont be used... If I want Generic RN DD. I will go with Javelin everytime... at least she can do a few things. Same with Arunta when I need an Aussie DD...
It has a defensive history but I still think we can get something good from it and still prefer the carrier screen over cruiser, as this is something they could do with and fits well with the service record.
- Carrier Screen: If this unit is in the same sector as a friendly Carrier, this unit rolls one extra attack die when making Anti-air attacks.
- Convoy Guard: Enemy Ships roll one less attack die when making Gunnery attacks against friendly Auxiliaries in the same sector as this unit.
I actually prefer guard the convoy to convoy guard but its an option if you don't want to keep using the former. But I do think a couple of defensive SAs is better, rather than mixing defensive/attacking ones and therefore keeping it solid for that role.

RAN doctrine was around the cruisers until 44 at the earliest.
That said, a carrier guard is another case for the HM(A)S Ocean. Which would a good option. Its not much help for the US or UK which have better back rank AA options already.
