I just looked up the class in Conway's, Fleets of WWII, and Mussolini's Navy. Conway's calls it the "Comandanti Medaglie D'Oro" class, but all the actual ship names are listed as "Comandante." Fleets calls it the "Comandante" class - probably erroneously. To settle the issue Mussolini's Navy specifically says it was called the "Comandanti" class but the names are "Comandante." "Comandanti" must be plural. I have asked Squint to change the name listing to "Comandante Roscana." All the ships were to be named for commanding officers that were killed in battle and given the "Medaglia d'Oro al Valor Militare" (Italy's highest military decoration). Hence the "Comandanti" class. Mussolini's Navy says the official name of the class was the "Commandanti" class. So I will update the back of the card to reflect that.
Sorry for the confusion. But it wasn't our fault!
