A pair of destroyers this week. Both of them team picks. (Temeraire next week.)
USS Sterett
USS Sterett started the war in the Atlantic with the Operation Torch landings in North Africa, and escorted USS Wasp when the carrier flew off a load of Spitfires for Malta. Then the destroyer headed for the Pacific and the Guadalcanal campaign. Following the fleet across the central Pacific, she went on to survive a hit by a Kamikaze off Okinawa. In addition to the Presidential Unit Citation, Sterett earned 13 battle stars and the Philippine Republic Presidential Unit Citation for her World War II service.

Comandante Roscana
The Comandanti Medaglie D'oro class destroyers would have made a strong impression in the Mediterranean if Italy had remained in the war on the Axis side for another year. A 1944 start year brings her into the game after the Italian armistice, but that only matters if you are playing with year restrictions. Comandante Roscana provides an almost top-of-the-line destroyer attack package of gunnery, AA, ASW, and torpedoes for Italy.
