So if your in America or have access to a Home Depot.... this is what you will need (working in the paint dept. for a year).
1 quart of base blue (flat) 2 to 3 sample containers of greens and blues of your choice (flat) sponges from the cleaning dept. (again ripped as he suggests) Super Glaze (used for bar tops etc. It will give you more than you need so measure out what will cover your table) paper towels throw away medium quality 2 inch brush (do not go with chip brushes or foam) plywood board of chosen size. siding 1 by 2s or smaller for edging.
I hope that helps... and thank you for shopping at the Home Depot.

Griding will require ether a blue line, or a good ruler. Remember the blocks are stutter stepped. I suggest starting by drawing in your squares on all sides and determine how large you want them to be - 3" by 3", 4"by 4", or larger...etc. Also take into account the side of your surface so you come out with an even number of boxes etc. Once you map out all four sides you can just go row by row filling in the boxes. Remember if you use a Sharpe and a stright edge make sure your not marking up your ruler edge as you draw them in. I would do this step before the Super Glaze but after the stippling of the other colored paints.
