Considering buying an HMS Glorious but was wondering if there was any advice as to how to fix the backward island. I have seen some mods but want to know how to do it before I wreck the model.
I flipped the island around on mine but its been years now so I dont recall exact details. I think it was just glued down and I was able to pry it off and glue it down in the opposite direction.

Yeah, Syzmo is right. There used to be articles on this in the old forum but I haven't been able to find them. I did two of them and the way I did it (if I recall correctly) was to heat them up in very hot water for a while and then pull the island straight up away from the flight deck. There were tabs or pegs going into the island from the hull. It wasn't easy and on one I think I used some sort of plyer being careful not to damage the island with grooves from the tool. Think I wrapped it in cloth or something. It is possible to do but it requires patience.
The most successful method seemed to be heating them for 3-4 minutes with a hair dryer on "high" and then pulling it straight out with a pliers. Use a soft towel inside the plier jaws so you don't tear the softened plastic island. After cooling just flip it around and superglue it back in. I did at least half a dozen this way.

How many Glorious do you have?
Those who don't remember their history are bound to do something or other...
