Stats are based almost exclusively on the airframe, but the pilot has a minor influence too. Poor pilots always have worse flight stats (turn, roll, climb and often dive are usually -1). All other pilot levels seem to have the same stats.
The pilot has stronger influence on the special abilities.

ARMOR / VITAL ARMOR ----------------- (According to R.B.) Based on armor and ruggedness of construction - Sturdy effectively adds + 0.5 to Armor - Rugged effectively adds + 0.5 to Vital
PILOT LEVEL (in terms of personal dogfighting ability and based solely on number of kills at the time of the card's date) ------------ "Legend" >= 35 kills Ace 5 - 34 kills Veteran (3 - 4 kills) Average - most pilots Rookie - e.g. for late-war Japanese and German teenagers
Back in the day there was a dive and climb maneuver failure chart. Does anyone have it, if so please email me. Here is my email address: markc3711@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance.

Dive Failure Table When your aircraft “Fails” a dive maneuver check, roll one D6 and consult the table below. Die Roll Result 1 Wing Rip- Destroyed. The dive has exceeded the physical limits of the aircraft. 2 High Compression- Pilot is unable to recover from dive. Drop one Altitude and roll on table again. Subtract -1 from new result. (6 = 5, 5=4 etc.) 3 Pull UP!! : Dive is difficult to recover. Aircraft must Drop 2 Altitudes. Move continues as normal if aircraft does not spin. 4 Black out: Pilot is disorientated from High G’s. Drop one Altitude. Opponent may rotate this Aircraft one facet left or right. Continue movement as normal unless spinning. 5 Over Shoot: Drop one or two altitudes as though successful but must move Aircraft straight one additional Hex. Continue movement as normal unless spinning. Addition Hex is not subtracted from allowable movement. 6 Piece of Cake: Pilot recovers from dive with no negative effects. Treat as success. Pilot Quality for Dive Table: Ace= Add +1 to all rolls. May reroll results but must accept the 2nd result. Veteran= May reroll any result but must accept the 2nd result. Rookie= Subtract 1 from all required rolls. (This Penalty stacks with “High Compression”) Here is the diving chart. Does anyone have the climbing chart to go with it.
This is the dive chart I came across on the old aam website. There is a companion to it for climbing. I seem to have lost it. Can anyone help?
