Just played my first game with my 10 year old and 15 year old and we all loved it! Due to small size (and similar appearance) of many of the vessels we had to keep the card right next to each ship to avoid mix-ups.

I have ordered a few etched bases from ODGW to check out that option, but I really need to put ship names on the bases for speed of play. Any advice on how to get a professional looking name etched onto the ship bases?

I have also seen some amazing bases that have the W@S stats etched on. Who is the source of these treasures, and does he/she still make them?

I am glad you guys enjoyed the game. We love getting new players! The bases were originally made by Gale Force 9 for the WotC bases. They are long since out of production of course. Our Foruminian Reacher makes them for us now. If you are interested send me a PM and I can send you his email.

You will begin to know even what the little destroyers are after a little play time.

Here are a couple of cheap and fast solutions for you:

1) Use a piece of paper and tape it to the bottom of the ship with the name of the unit sticking out from one side.
2) Use either a popsicle stick or a tongue depressor and some poster sticky tack. Use the sticky tack to keep the ship on the wood and write the name of the unit on the wood with a pencil or pen.

Also as Weedsrock2 stated, give it a couple of games and you'll at least start recognizing the bigger ships or your favorites.

gvwalker those look awesome. I would personally prefer something like that, but the Reacher bases also look fantastic
