Last month I posted a tentative update to the Scenario Generator, and I asked for feedback on the changes (minor as they were). I never did receive any, so I figured I'd help kickstart the new forum by soliciting for opinion here.
Would it be annoying to add unit limits on the US in the Atlantic and Med theatres? Similar to the German limits in the Med.
Do you think it's worthwhile?
I can do the leg work, if you like.
What kind of limits are you thinking? I put those restrictions in place because it was fairly straightforward that German surface ships really didn't have a chance of making an appearance in the Med.
Ok, for the Med scenarios, I would limit the US capital ships to:
1942 Texas New York Massachusetts
Ranger Sangamon
1943-45 Texas New York Massachusetts Nevada
Ranger Sangamon St Lo, Guadalcanal
This is all based on Operations Torch, Husky, Avalanche, Shingle and Dragoon. There were lots of different subs destroyers and cruisers, but I think that excluding the bigger, newer capital ships is appropriate cause they were busy in the Pacific.

That seems a little complex for the generator. I wonder if it might be simpler to just say something like, "US fleets are restricted to a maximum of 1 CV and 1 BB each." This would limit the flexibility of American unit selection without needing too much in the way of additional special rules.
And the generator does play a little loose with history just like the game; otherwise we'd leave out the Spanish and Swedish units. Most of the newer American capital ships conducted their shakedown cruises in the Atlantic. The Navy also delayed sending newer fast battleships like *North Carolina* and *Washington* to the Pacific, because of the persistent threat of the *Tirpitz*. So it's certainly feasible that any of the newer BBs or *Essex*-class CVs could have been diverted for an operation in the Med before being sent to the Pacific.
BTW, I think the generator is fabulous and I have it on my phone so i can call it up immediately. Please don't take offense at my suggestions if they seem critical. Just excited to be helpful! lol

I would like very much for an updated version of the generator to be created to include all the small nations that fought in WWII. I have the 7.4 and our (6 to 10 people) group use it every Monday night when we game. Needs updating PLEASE!!!
My pet peeve about the game are those who use ships that were sunk or never built... i.e. using Bismark in 1945 or the USS Montana. Be nice to have a list the excludes those ships are were sunk/scuttled/surrendered for historical scenarios.
thanks.

I disagree with this idea. The generator should be open to reasonable combinations of allied ships. I understand the restriction for the German surface ships in the Med. as Gibraltar was a serious obstacle keep the Germans out and the Italians in.
