Hi guys,
Please use this thread to contribute and discuss your ideas for this Deck 5 unit. The development team aren't under any obligation to adopt these ideas, but I've asked them to review this thread before we start our own discussion of the unit.
With that in mind, please try to keep your posts persuasive rather than argumentative - your ideas are far more likely to be adopted if you use reason, so let's keep it civil gents.
Here are some stats to kick off the discussion - they've been vetted by the team, but if you see anything you disagree with, please do raise it here.

Displacement: 2,216 tons standard

Armament: 4 x 5 in DP (4 x 1), 2 x 40mm AA, 6 x 20mm AA, 6 DCT, 2 DCR, Hedgehog

Slow 2 - At the beginning of your Sea Movement phase, roll a die. On a 2 or less, this unit gets -1 speed this turn.

Class unlimited
1941 to early 1942 - patrolled waters off Honolulu and conducted many depth charge attacks on suspected submarines. Present during Pearl Harbor attack, moored at Coast Guard Station. Attacked 4 flights of aircraft attacking Honolulu power plant.
Jan-Feb'42 - Screened transport ship on evacuation missions.
Jun'42 - ordered to search for survivors in waters around Midway Island after Battle of Midway (having convoyed supplies to garrison).
Apr'43 - Acted as convoy guide for UGS-38 across the Atlantic. Convoy came under air attack from Ju88s & He111s, torpedoing several merchant ships , with two torpedoes running close past Taney.
Participated in two further round-trip convoy missions.
Oct'44-Jan'45 - converted to amphibious command ship (5in guns reduced to two, ASW outfit removed, 2 x 20mm AA removed, 12 x 40 mm AA added).
Apr'45 - arrived off Okinawan beaches amidst air raids. Scored at least three hits on a G4M "Betty" bomber. Experienced 4 more red alerts first day on station.
By end of May'45, Taney had gone to general quarters 119 times, downed 4 suicide planes and assisted in numerous other kills. As a command ship she also conducted combat info center duties and maintained radar coverage.
