Looks like Shapeways has shut down all production and filed for bankruptcy. I was able to find a link to an article about it below. That is all the info I could find on the matter. There has been no official statement on the site’s forum nor any email to shop owners. They say at the end that they plan on restarting the buisness, but who knows how long that will take.
I have seen suggestions that you should immediately contact paypal or your credit card and see if you can stop payments. Pretty sure I won't be getting my July royalties. Nice of them to run a sale to boost sales and then stiff payments to their designers.
I guess it is a good thing I bought prints of all of the designs in advance after all.
Very, very sad to see them go. Mainly I am very sad to see all the excellent miniatures of our designers disappear. I personally have no interest in printing my own, but with over 2,000 of them sitting unpainted in boxes in my room I probably won't get everything painted that I already have.

I JUST PLACED AN ORDER ON JUNE 22ND!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You better get on finding a way for a refund. I just went on their forum for the first time. They fired everyone, designers are panicking that they'll lose everything.
Things are a mess.

Looks like they didn't even tell Hero Forge that they were shutting down. Feel bad for them, their entire buisness just ground to a hault and have weeks of orders that won't be fullfilled.

PayPal is making it so incredibly difficult to dispute the charge I gave up and just went straight to my VISA card company and placed the dispute there. At least they're very responsive. Sigh.
Due to circumstances and not actually having played WAS for a while now, I've gone well over 12 months since my last order but was intending getting back to it as required. Will have to look at the alternatives going forward if it doesn't pick up. Am I right in thinking the other option(s) are stateside?
The vibe did seem to be missing though in recent years. No doubt funds, inflation etc. played a part for something that seemed to get more expensive.

And competition with increasingly better "home" printers
Yes, I know of two people in my area that are doing decent work with resin printers. These home businesses may be able to fill the gaps. The issue is getting the STL files...

And for me the issue is the existing printers all use materials that are too brittle for game pieces IMO. I really prefer the flex and durability of the nylon material for pieces that are actually going to be roughly handled on the table.
