Developed in response to a 1933 Regina Marina requirement the Ro.43 was relatively fast and long legged. 193 of the catapult capable aircraft were build. Often locating Allied warships in the lead up to most of the major naval battles of the mediterrenean. Thr fragile airframe and weak armament limited it use in other roles. And durinbmg the war it was phased out in favor of Re2000 fighters that lacked seaplane capability.
