I don't know if this was ever officially sorted, but I can't find it on the clarifications doc.
A convoy ship in the convoy scenario has 3 hull points. It goes on to state that the stats are identical to Jeremiah O'Brien, but that unit has only 2 hull points.
So the question is, does a convoy ship in the convoy scenario have 2 or 3 hull points?

Yeah, it's hard to believe that such a major issue with an official scenario has never been resolved.
My gut instinct is that it should match the Jeremiah O'Brien with 2 hull, but I don't know if playtesting found the convoy side needed the assistance, thus the extra hull point, or whether that was just a misprint? It is a shame that the same mistake has been replicated in both editions of the rulebook.
Well, my Naval Battles PtII has 4 convoy scenarios, so I guess I'm about to find out what works in playtesting.

Convoy scenarios are tough. Being that the merchant ship only moves 1 means that for game play you will lose nearly all the convoy just trying to reach their destination.
That being said what our group has done is allow over stacking of the hex/square where we allow three ships regardless of an escort SA. This allows you to have either three merchants or two merchants and a DD or a combination. Gives them some protection against enemy AA protection against A/C.
Just a suggestion.

When you play a convoy scenario what hull value do you use? 2 or 3?
We use three hull. Also some escorts have convoy guard or protect the convoy which means they have to be targeted by the enemy before they can target the convoy ship. this helps as well.

Also, the scenario is turn limited [15]. You could sit your freighters in the deploymemt zone for 3 turns before moving rather than charging into enemy guns.
Almost certainly a typo. A 2000t tramp wouldnt be much use in atlantic routes
Yeah, it's hard to think these ships would have the same hull as a cruiser that has some level of armour and warship compartmentalized. Subs would often sink them with a couple of shells from a deck gun rather than waste a torp. But I just wonder if they gave them 3 to balance the scenario. I guess we'll never know.
