I could ask the printer what they used for the Forumini cards, but that is actually better card stock than the WotC cards.
New to custom cards and such. Would it be possible for you to tell me which printing company and card stock was used for the Forumini cards? Also wondering if there's a template or anything for custom cards or if you have any suggestions for formatting? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I'm not sure where else to ask

And from what I've seen on someone's post a while back, partially water resistant too. Someone had a leak and all the WOTC cards were ruined, but the forumini cards lived.
Weeds, I think asking the printer what card stock they are using would be great. I have a cousin who is in the paper industry, I'm going to ask him what the old cards are.

I sent the query today and got the response back late this afternoon. The paper is 14 pt. C2S Cover. 14 pt is the thickness and C2S stands for "Coating 2 Sided." (I had to look that up)
I also asked for an estimate to print another 100 decks of a set and he quoted me $772.60. That will not include shipping which will likely be another $40-50.00. That price assumes a reprint of one of the decks that they already have in their system and ready to go. So no setup cost.
The printer is Pepperdines in Denver. Anyone that wants to contact the printer can send me a PM and I will send the contact information.
I obviously have a template that I created for the Forumini "Sea God" decks, but that template is reserved for that project. I think it is important for the cards from that project to be uniquely identifiable. I don't think the template is that great anyway, but it met the goal at the time of having a familiar format without completely copying the WotC cards.

I was planning to contact them for the cost anyway because our stock of all sets of the decks is getting very low. As you can see, it would be very expensive to reprint 100 decks of all six sets and I am doubtful we could sell them all. I lost a fair amount of money on decks 5 and 6 and I am now retired so I can't afford to up-front the cost anymore.
I lost a couple of dollars per deck on the 5th deck because of the high postage from Australia so I "subsidized" it some. Rival Sky additionally absorbed some of the hit as well. And of course we lost about 60 of deck 6 during shipping to Australia during the pandemic. I also lost about 15 decks of set 4, and 3 each of decks 1-3 in that shipment. That really hurt. Insurance was only $200.00 and I couldn't apply for it anyway because the proof was in Australia. After 6 months of harassing the USPS I was sick of the whole thing.
Don't get me wrong, I still love this project. I am just insane that way. But I can only afford so much. If we want to print more decks we will need to come up with another way to finance them.

Maybe we need another model entirely...I've never used them, but I've heard good things about Drivethrucards
I've been considering posting a lot of my and other fan-made cards and getting my own deck printed.
Something like this would let everyone do their own print-on-demand and take the financial stress off of you and/or anyone else.
One of the issues with our decks is the unique back on every card. Most of the online resources I found print on standard playing card stock (which is thinner) and you just pick from a limited selection of a generic back designs. When I found places that could print unique card backs the cost was similar to my printer, but with far less service.
If you are making cards that do not require a unique back and you are okay with standard playing card stock then there are a lot of on-line printers out there you could use.
