I have a question. Has anyone tried building scale model dockyards for the miniatures? I follow an IG page called jasforney that is 1/700 and literally has everything. Cranes, piers, drydock, airfields, buildings, cargo.
Erwin Rommel - "Give me American supply lines, British planes, German officers and Canadian troops, and I can take over the world".
I seem to recall, possibly from the old forum, someone built a St. Nazaire dockyards/drydock for an AAM game. It was pretty close to scale the builder mentioned, it did have pics & it was good sized. The scenario was the raid with H.M.S. Campbellton disguised as German destroyer. It was mainly an AAM set-up but it did have dockyard facilities, cranes, docks, etc...quite well done.
Maybe that person is a member here & will see this maybe & chime in.
Hope this helps maybe, perhaps it is archived somewhere.
Have ypu looked at any hobby sites that have model railroading buildings. I've seen a few that have ll sorts of buildings & might have some dock structures. I know Hobbylinc.com has train buildings & landscaping materials, trees etc & lotsa buidings in several scales.
