Graduate of the Royal Australian Naval College, Hector Waller was a midshipman in the last days of world war 1 aboard the unique battleship HMS Agincourt. Between the wars he progressed through ranks before takong his first command, the destroyer HMS Brazen in 1937. One the septermber 1st 1939 he took command of HMAS Stuart, leading a modest squadron destroyers to the mediterrean, that would soon embrace the axis propaganda moniker the "scrap iron flotilla" as the supported the Royal Navy against the italian navy, and guarded the 8th armies flanks. Recalled to Australia, Captain Waller was put in command of the Light Cruiser HMAS Perth and sent to support the ill fated ABDA command. Defeated in the battle of Java sea, Waller ordered Perth, accompanied by allied ships through the Sunda Straight. Directly into an overwhelming Imperial Japanese Navy taskforce. HMAS Perth was sunk, with 353 casualties, including Captain Waller

Okay guys, I have finished the Commander card front design graphics. This was suggest by flak. All you have to say is "brilliant", "I love it", and "You don't have to change a thing!" It took me two long days to design the card. One full day just to make the officer's cap with scrambled eggs.
As a few of you know I attended the US Coast Guard Academy for about 1.5 years. So I get to pick the service and country represented on the hat!
