So a few years ago I went to the dedication of a memorial for a downed B-24 that was on its way to Europe. In 44 it had engine trouble and crashed in the local state park (Pawtuckaway - which is an ancient volcanic caldera). A group of local Girl Scouts learned about the site from one of our local elders and decided to make a memorial. It is a stone bench at the crash site and my wife played taps during the ceremony. We need to remember all of our fallen heroes on this December 7th.
