My first rare was,if i am not wrong (and after reading in the old forum): The Zara! I bought a single booster (in addition to some sigle ships).
And my second rare was the... Zara! Uh, but the case was a good one: Zara, HMS Illustrious, USS Yorktown, USS San Francisco, USS Missouri, Musashi, Yamashiro, Nachi, Zuikaku, Tirpitz and Zeppelin.
My overall coment was: "5 Carriers with 12 Booster is okay for me (every nation has one carrier)".
A real understatement i think so. Today i would be happy, if i got any booster.
Seems such a long time ago; was either 2010 or 11 bought my first case from Cotton Jim at Historicon PA. ;; Set 1 $160. First unit pulled; wish i could remember, but i defiantly know the last one to fill the set -- Baltimore, don't know if it was me, but it was hard to come by back then.
My first was the kongo. Major fun fighting it with the boise, dauntless, and barb that I got in a second booster. I evidently misunderstood the rules, as the boise would often sink it singlehandedly.
I could never pull a yamato though, so I ordered one off of ebay at ~25 dollars.
I bought a starter and a booster when Set I came out. I got a Rodney in the starter and a Graf Spee in the booster. I actually was not impressed with the minis, but I liked the game rules a lot. Simple but elegant.

My first rare was the Richelieu. I remember not knowing much about French ships at the time and it looked pretty wierd to me. I was amazed and appalled. Now I really appreciate their layout. I never could get a USS Arizona so I ended up trading a buddy a spare HMS Hawkins and a USS Richmond for Repulse and Arizona.
