I made a decision early on with shapeways about which units to swap out. The obvious ones Kongos, Tones, Myokos were a must. Others I could put up with and didn't want to go down the road of replacing too many. I've never liked the secondary mounts on the Baltimore's but wasn't going to redo several just for that. I did the Salt Lakes, structure too bulky and masts too big, plus only two to do.
I've kept Rodney, Nelson. Although they aren't the greatest, paint job on the latter especially.
The one other class I might do at some point is the Alaskas. They just look very sparse.
"That's right son, join the navy. Get behind a bloody big gun and knock the hell out of somebody"
"We went out, got our arses kicked, then came back again"
The sculpt is ugly. This has destroyer guns but no ASW, and it’s only slightly more survivable than a Fletcher-class destroyer. The design was outmoded when it was built. The torpedoes are so poor that it’s an afterthought rather than a primary weapon. The names are gross. Sorry if you’re named Richmond, but that’s not pretty. I get that it was the capital of the Confederacy, but it’s not a pleasant word. Marblehead is something a third-grader tries as a retort when he gets called a doody-face the first time.
Agree with this one wholeheartedly. Unless you are running a strictly historical scenario there is no reason for the American to use an Omaha Class cruiser. There are sooo many better options available.
Very historical I would say.

Kirishima and Atago are so nice . . . if only they hadn't painted them green . . .
Yeah. I assume that was for differentiation on the game table. RB seems to have switched to green for the IJN beginning with the second Starter pack. It is the late war green the IJN used to camouflage carriers.

This is true, but it is still a little ugly. I also don't use North Carolina and Wasp that often for similar reasons, it's just weird when all of your US ships are blue-decked except for them, and it's even worse for Atago and Kirishima. I mean, I think one of the reasons that Shinnentai's battle reports were so nice was that the fleets looked uniform, and even though it was historical and there were good reasons to paint some Jap ships green, it just doesn't sit right with me.
Then there is Mogami and the Taiho flight deck. I have nowhere to go with brown. All I know is RB was limited to a fixed number of total "paint steps" for each set. It was never near enough so he had to spread them out and optimize the best he could.

USS Cincinnati of that class would like a word with you. (As a native Cincinnatian, I have to stand up for it.) Lol

USS Milwaukee also would like a word with you. I'm a big fan of the old Omaha class. True they were outdated and stat-wise poor but hey you can field 10 of them with class limits, yay!
On topic, I would have to go with the Montana sculpt, I absolutely the despise the spatula-looking guns. Also not a fan of super-BBs to start with.
