I like SWO's Nachi and Mokyo more. They have the same stats as Haguro but are also corrected in points. If the SeaGods "re-do" Haguro. Maybe a Java Sea Operational one?
You can always drop the price, but if you raise it then nobody has to play that card when a cheaper one already exists. The genie is already out of the bottle.
Ah right...the price

Since we have decently sized collections, we house-ruled you can only bring multiples of destroyers, aircraft, subs and MTBs. Everything larger must be unique.

That is a fantastic houserule. I may just have to incorporate that into my gameplay because it would certainly help field some units that don’t get near enough love.
That is a decent house rule and makes sense. Cruisers serve different functions. Should not have any one flavor in a fleet. Planes, subs, & destroyers are ubiquitous.

We tried that, but there are still a lot of classes that do not have a card for every member of the class. So that didn't go over too well.
Another way to do it is to require the units that have unique names to be used before multiples of the same name can be used up to the class limit. This works pretty well, but again, my local club doesn't really like a lot of complicated restrictions that require the player to be a naval historian. They have a hard enough time getting the historical fleet restrictions right as it is. Not that I have never messed up a fleet build!
