My DeepCutStudio mats came in today, and they're great! (These are of the PVC type)
The island in the middle of the table is where the two mats meet, one going a little on top of the other. The lines are straight, background is nice, texture is very smooth. Although, as with all PVC mats they do tend to stay in the shape you leave them in, but this will not be a problem for their mouse-pad material mats. Still, highly recommend, and I can give y'all the specifications of my order if you'd like.
That all being said, I don't have Reacher bases, so I can't tell you how it holds up to that, but the bases of my islands won't scratch it by sliding on top of it. The bases are made of sheet acrylic which is a 3-4 on the mohs hardness scale.
First off, my apologies for resurrecting an older post, hopefully that's okay.
I'm looking to order a custom 6x3 neoprene mat from Deep Cut Studios for my group's larger War at Sea games. For those who have ordered from Deep Cut in the past (or are familiar with their custom mat process), how did you get the offset square grid pattern to use for your mat? And were you happy with the results?
I have purchased several mats from them before (for Star Wars: Armada and other wargames), so I'm familiar with the quality of their products. But they've always been "off the rack" options from their shop, not a custom design and I'm a little hesitant to send them graphics that won't print well. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
did Deep Cut say they needed the graphics? Curious since they’ve obviously done the pattern before. Perhaps the user further up the thread can provide the pattern.
I'm contacting them now to see if they still have this pattern, though I'd love to know what transparency level joshuphigh used for the black lines for the mat pictured above? I'm debating between black or white grid lines for my water mat.
Please let us know what they say. I’d be interested in ordering one.
Will do. I used their website to create a bunch of different weight/line color combos for the grid, and finally sent them my specifications for a 6x3 neoprene mat. We'll see what they say!
For specifics, I went with their Waterworld mat (though Icy Waters was a close second) with white grid lines at 2 pt weight and 50% transparency.
