OPENING SALVO Almirante Latorre and ARA Veinticinco de Mayo

OK!! So things are ticking along with this deck. I'll admit to all of you that I've had a very rough 18 months and it's really dragged things down for the deck. I want to say sorry to all of you and give a big thank you and huge round of applause to the rest of the team who have stuck with it and me through this whole time.
ANYWAY!!! We're going to take a trip down south to Chile and Argentina with today's Salvo!
First up is the Chilean Battleship Almirante Latorre. The former HMS Canada was ordered by Chile in response to Brazil and Argentina getting battleships, but was first used by Britain because of WW1. It was the most advanced of the Battleships in South America when if finally arrived. The team was looking to give this ship the Flagship flavour of a small navy, but also reflect its obsolescence and the live fire, wartime inexperience of its crew.
Next is the Veinticinco de Mayo. An Argentinian Cruiser built by Italy and based loosely the Trento class. This, and her sister Almirante Brown were the most modern ships in South America. This ship was eventually to take over fleet Flagship duties from the decrepit Rivadavia and we tried to show the effort Argentina was making to transition this ship to its role when war broke out and that plan was put on hold.
