Another card I've been contemplating for a while. The Japanese Zero in this game really suffers due to having only 2 Hit points. I've played against it quite a bit, and while the Zero Ace has proved to be a valuable "top-dog", the others tend to get jumped and crippled far too easily. Additionally, the A6M2 "Zeke" Veteran is particularly difficult to take because it lacks an Evasion SA while all the other Zeros do. This is an effort to correct that.
I think this will make the A6M2 Zeke (Veteran) actually playable. It's less "wow" for the Ace, Escort and Rookie (they already have Evasion of some form or another), but even so, the benefit of not suffering Crippled effects after ONE. LOUSY. HIT. will make these planes suck less. They still die in 2 hits... they can still be vitaled on '5' hits... but less sucky.
As you saw in our game, I slapped it on every Zero EXCEPT the rookie (he's a bait plane anyway, and I ran out of points)... we'll see the impact it makes. Would love to hear what other folks think.
I like this addition to my Axis card deck. I’ve automatically deducted 2 cost points to Jap fighters with 2 armor and 2 hit points to make them more playable in point games. This card can be added to make the full price on the card. P.S. is there anybody in the Phoenix area playing AAAF or W@S ? My kids are not into it anymore. :-(
