Being the FNG to the land game, I have a question on transporting troops with a unit that can carry two soldiers. Can the transport vehicle move into a hex, pick up a soldier, move in to another hex, pick up another soldier then move again to finish the maximum number of movement hexes. I am sure this has been covered somewhere, but I haven't been able to find it.
As I understand the rules, I would say this can't be done. Once a unit moves & then a second unit moves, it ends the previous units movement. Example: your truck moves into a hex with a soldier, when the soldier mounts the truck, that ends the truck's movement, since a second unit has now moved. Hopefully someone else will also comment/clarify if I am mistaken but this is how I understand the rule to work.
After thinking some more about this, there is a way to board two soldier type units from two locations. Truck & soldier begin movement in same hex. Soldier boards truck...truck moves into hex with soldier, ends it's move....soldier boards.....truck moves again in Assault Phase to desired location.....finish turn. Next turn soldiers unload in mevement phase, truck does whatever empty tucks do.....

One more option; truck moves in movement phase & then the two soldiers unload. Using transports can be tricky.....when planes are in the game it usually is toast, loaded trucks are always juicy targets for planes. All this being said, you can still use them to good results.
Back on the old forum when the clubs exisisted, I remember an online game, US vs USSR, myself as US & joebunda as USSR, he brought up a truck behind a hedgerow with a Maxim & Guards infantry on board, forgot to unload, and my light mortar team popped that truck nicely. Always remember to unload trucks or they will vanish usually...can be costly otherwise....
One more option; one soldier unloads, truck moves, other soldier unloads. I believe these are all correct moves....somebody better check them though...

Yes this is fine because dismounting is an action of the soldiers not the truck. 3 separate actions for 3 separate units.

Thanks for all the input guys. My better half and I managed to get a game in the other day, and decided to include some transports to see how it played out. We played US vs Germany. To make a long story short, My motorcycle half-track towing a 20mm flak got caught with its pants down and was mowed down by a M1919 MG team that I failed to spot hiding just in range. On the other hand, my Tiger 1, with a lack of any other more valuable targets, decimated a M5 half-track with another M1919 MG team aboard. It was ugly. So with that being said, since both our units being transported were still on board, or in tow, they were also casualties of the transports demise, correct?
