I migrated my repaints (mostly) from the old Forum, and stuck them all in one thread.
As I add more, I'll do separate postings.
Going from most recent, here's a WIP on Malta Spitfires:
There is a lot of discussion in the cyberverse about the Malta "blue" Spitfires.
I've seen some versions that are entirely blue (the photo recon units did use blue aircraft), and some that had the lighter colours washed over with various shades of blue or grey.
That seemed more reasonable to me, so I went with a couple of Spitfires with European colours moderated for their Mediterranean duty.
Then, back in 2016, was this Bf 110, intended for service in North Africa:
I was surprised to see that the Fairey Fulmar was from 2014. Jeez, has it been that long?
It's done up in Fleet Air Arm colours, and could have been on the HMS Ark Royal or the HMS Illustrious, both on their Med duties.
Then, from 2013, I did a couple of Wildcats up as Martlets.
The rear Martlet is based on a Fleet Air Arm aircraft flown in the Western Desert in 1941. The front Martlet is modelled after an aircraft flown off the HMS Formidable off Madagascar in 1942.
And lastly, a cople of D.520 Interceptors redone as L'Armee de L'Air: the Vichy air force in Madagascar, Lebanon/Syria and North Africa. The "prisoner stripes" were a pain to do.
Thanks to the ForuMinian repainters, who inspired me to take brush in hand and try repainting myself. It's been a lot of fun. Doing the research and getting the paints "just right" has been very engrossing.
I recommend it as a way of extending your interest in the A&A minis.
