Hi everyone, just joined the forum and have started to play this great game again. I purchased a few years back the revised starter set plus a couple of booster packs.I then bought some singles from a site now forgotten and have a small collection. I have searched everywhere and the only place I could find selling single ships ect with cards are the troll and toad. I bought 14 items yesterday including the Scharnhorst. First question as I've now seen some bad reviews of these guys has anyone here used them , and second are there any other web sites that sell war at sea minis? I live in Ireland if anyone knows of a UK seller. Thanks all best regards Sulphur
If you decide to buy the Forumini decks from Rival Sky you will get free shipping if you also buy at least $100.00 worth of miniatures I believe. The cards should go on sale in a week or so.
Edit to correct:
RivalSky only offers free shipping with orders of $150.00 AU or more and only to Australian destinations. My bad.
Shapeways offers a large selection of ships, though there are no cards and you will have to paint them yourself. Other than that, Miniature Market or the Market subforum.
I quite dislike Troll & Toad. Some years ago I bought 12 'sealed' boosters of MonPoc from them. When they arrived, I could tell the had been opened, as they were repackaged with tissue paper (PP always used plastic) and the box was resealed with Elmers. In addition, each booster had been cherry picked, as out of 12 boosters, I received 2 unique rares, 8 of 1 and four of the other. The commons and uncommons were similarly alike. Both rares were the 'worst' rares to be had. When I complained, they told me to go to PP, despite the game being OOP for months. They ignored the pictures I sent as proof that the internals were repackaged.
Hi stealth, thats the same story I'm seeing on reviews of this crowd ,a very bad way to do business. My purchase is on route so I will wait and see what I get, but even if it's ok I may avoid them from now on and put it down to luck. I will let you know how I get on. I have also bought 3 ships from tiny thingamajigs from shapeways and have heard good things so will no doubt buy from him from now on if all ok Cheers for now kev
Hi ddevestator, apologies for late reply been busy at work last couple of days. I currently have Royal Navy ,German ,Japanese , American with a small mixture of other nations. I am concentrating and n Royal Navy and Germany at the moment and basically getting some of the famous ships first. Recieved my first shapeways models yesterday , Tirpitz, Prinz Eugen and Prince of Wales. Lovely models but feel a bit delicate and would brake easily. Are they stonger when painted or does anyone have any tips cheers kev
