I have terrible luck with Carro Armato M13/40, which always seem to blow up on me. But I take them anyway because they have decent stats for a 12-point tank.

Just manage to go first, you get to shoot them sometimes before they detonate...
I only have one game played of AAM to my name but as I understand italy is accurately challenging to play as Italian only is there a way to make italy competitive without bringing in the Germans Lol? ( like does AAM have some of the OOB or other type systems people came up with for war at sea to make for some competitive matches when needed) or are they really not that bad and stand a shot most of the time ?
Italy is tough to play as a "Stand Alone" country, it can be done but it ain't that easy. It has no Spotters for Indirect Fire & it does have units capable of that. Custom Units can help. I have a couple Autoblinda Commanders that add some punch yet are not overpowered. I use them with a custom card & also use the German Spotter for Indirect Fire. You lose the Single Nation point bonus but Italy needs the help IMO. Also, I give them some German armor & transport & they can be formidable, also use the SS Haupsturmfurher for initiative help & Exert Will is a very good SA. The Autoblinda card can be found on the Axis & Allies Underground forum, I haven't figured out how to post pics/etc here yet & I am using a tablet as well, not a techie either... All this being said, Italy can be fun to play, just give them some help & go for it!

Italy can be competitive especially since they changed the infantry to lose the bad SA "Bravado 2"
The Breda LMG is crap though
IMO-the Semonvente 90/53 tank destroyer is the real deal for killing tanks. And the 47/32 AT gun is good for a light AT gun with a anti-infantry shot.
Yes, only the italian tank platoon cost more with the revised points than paying individually. The cost of the old L3/35 was 9 points, with the revised cards 7 points. It´s the only formation with U.S. Sherman Platoon not revised in the Expanded Rules.
Useful with Enfilade fire. Think with Grazing fire doesnt work (Machine Guns "Soldiers with Double Shot ability")
