This is a custom card being designed for my Strike North Campaign Scenario which I will be GMing during the upcoming MaizeCon in Waterloo, IA happening in October 2018. There are plenty of card designs already out there by such esteemed individuals as Sharpe, Thor711 and ObstbfEgon. I'm using them as starting points for my own versions. Some have been left entirely intact and others I have modified to my own purposes.
Looking for feedback. What do you think? Is it balanced in terms of cost? Any concerns or questions?
Once I have enough comments / feedback giving approval I will produce the unit card and post it here.
Mortier de 60mm Mle 1935 Nationality: France Soldier
Inaccurate 1 - This unit gets -1 on each attack die.
Shrapnel 2 - Each success this unit rolls against a soldier counts as two successes.
A simple and effective weapon, this mortar was copied by countries such as the United States and China. Captured examples were used by the Germans to create their own 60mm light mortar.
The German Light mortar has AS 3/6/5, AV -/4/3 with SAs Inaccurate 1, Limited Range 6 & Shrapnel 2 for a cost of 5.
The Japanese Type 89 mortar has AS 3/7/7, AV -/4/4 with SAs Inaccurate 1, Shrapnel 2 & Seasoned Crew for a cost of 9.
So this French version has a bit longer range (8 compared to 6) and a bit more hitting power at those longer ranges compared to the German light mortar.
So is that extra hitting power at the longer ranges give it a 6 or 7 cost? I think it's borderline.
