This is a custom card being designed for my Strike North Campaign Scenario which I will be GMing during the upcoming MaizeCon in Waterloo, IA happening in October 2018. There are plenty of card designs already out there by such esteemed individuals as Sharpe, Thor711 and ObstbfEgon. I'm using them as starting points for my own versions. Some have been left entirely intact and others I have modified to my own purposes.
Looking for feedback. What do you think? Is it balanced in terms of cost? Any concerns or questions?
Once I have enough comments / feedback giving approval I will produce the unit card and post it here.
7.5 cm m/19 Bergkanon
Nationality: Norway
Soldier - Artillery
Year available: 1940
Cost: 8
Speed: 0
Defense: 3/3
AI: 7/7/6 (updated)
AV: 5/5/3 (updated)
Relocate 2 - This unit has speed 2 during your assault phase.
Hard to Spot - This unit gets +1 on cover rolls.
Light Artillery - This unit can be carried by units with the transport ability.
Alpine Gun - This unit gets +1 attack die versus enemy units in hill or mountain terrain. It may re-roll all movement rolls except when crossing streams.
Norwegian soldiers sometimes used this weapon as an improvised AT gun.
As far as I know this weapon didn't come with any AP rounds. But I do see that the Japanese 70mm Type 2 has AV 7/6/5, so I guess 5/5/3 isn't out of the question. Assuming I changed the AV to your suggested stats, should the cost go up to 9 or keep it the same?
Why is the short rang Anti-infantry attack worse than medium range?
The original stats I am using as a base line came from a Sharpedia card with the following:
Cost 8
AI 6/7/7 AV 5/3/2
What exactly is the logic behind making the short range AI a 6 and the medium & long ranges a 7 I can't say. Perhaps it was a misprint or mistake on the part of the original unit card. Would it make more sense to have it as AI 7/7/6?
