Our Opening Salvo reveals this week are the USCGC Taney and the Atlantikwall
One of the Treasury/Secretary class (depending on the reference) cutters, these were considered among the most seaworthy ships ever built to that time. Taney was present in Hawaii during the Pearl Harbor attack, and then spent the early war escorting convoys. Then several of the class were converted to flagships for amphibious assault forces in the Pacific later in the war. The SAs on the card reflect the multiple roles Taney filled during the war. She is slow and doesn't have torpedoes which limits her offensive usefulness, but as a 6 point unit with Flag 1 should could be a useful addition to a fleet build that needs a boost to initiative.
This card reflects the many German shore batteries built along the Atlantic coast of mainland western Europe from the Spanish/French border up to the tip of Norway. The 150 mm naval rifle was a widely used gun for these batteries. This card is loosely based on the battery at Longues-sur-Mer. This card took the longest to do. It was one of the first cards the team started work on, and one of the last to be completed. Seventeen pages of discussion on the old Forumini site plus 23 pages after moving over here. Plus at least a couple of times back and forth to the playtesters. Enjoy!
One of the big things we were trying to accomplish is to make Atlantikwall an SA that can make parts of the wall better.
I personally want a large gun wall unit similar to Todt in the next deck. It will have Atlantikwall 2 that will confer a new ability but still trigger and be triggered by Atlantikwall

Taney has some interesting SA's, will make another good convoy guard. Atlantikwall, well, not a fan of installations. Might make a fun piece to model or get from Shapeways.
Not sure what to think of the installation yet and particularly the Atlantic wall SA which obviously intends multiples of these and/or other types in later sets. For me the airstrip is still the best installation we've had and the only one I see often used so another variation of that in future sets would get my vote first.
Also like the flag on Taney.
"That's right son, join the navy. Get behind a bloody big gun and knock the hell out of somebody"
"We went out, got our arses kicked, then came back again"
