What a guy. He created an amazing game that has touched so many people. I will be ever thankful for his creation.

It's a niche market, but of very committed players and collectors. A lot of the minis were purchased by players of other naval games that never had pre-painted minis before. And WWII collectors bought them too. Some collectors even buy our Forumini cards. Also, a lot of these were purchased by "ordinary collectible game players" and they are probably just sitting in boxes. They aren't recycled back into the market that much. They were spread out all over the place. RB told me once they hit an "unmet need" in the market. As someone who spent a fair amount of time in a marketing department, I can tell you that is like hitting a big vein of gold. Relatively speaking. It still didn't sell enough to satisfy WotC.

Still one of my favorite games of all time, even if all the local players have quit or moved on. The opening of boosters, sorting of the ships, painting, and eventually playing to check out the new toys, ah, what memories.

Just occurred to me; I think it was weeds that sent him an email not too long ago asking for some of his thoughts on the Heavy Shore Battery questions the forum came up with.

That must have got him thinking and remembering
