I was thinking a couple of days ago about any second SA on this being synergized with the first. What with torpedo swarm in my head from Tang, and the fact this sunk and damaged another cruiser less than a week after its BB attack. Could a lesser version of that swarm, just targeting cruisers have been possible to go with valiant stand. Target Cruiser(or whatever cruiser orientated title, slayer etc.) giving an extra 1 shot dice against any cruisers in the same sector, maybe OPG.
Pure offensive torp power..
Otherwise happy to go as is.

Two weeks after taking part in the naval battle of Guadalcanal where she launched an unsuccessful torpedo attack on USS Washington, Oyashio found herself in close combat again at the battle of Tassafaronga. Although many units of the Japanese fleet were carrying canister drums on deck as part of a supply effort to Guadalcanal, the surprised force reacted quickly to being attacked. Along with several others, Oyashio launched a devastating spread of 8 long lance torpedoes towards the US force. Although hits are difficult to attribute, Oyashio is credited with a crippling hit on Pensacola and a possible hit on Northampton.
I've done this while I was looking at Drayton.
Might need a redo though. Northampton has hits attributed from different ships, depending on sources?
Engaged in the Naval battle of Guadalcanal where she launched an unsuccessful torpedo attack on USS Washington. Oyashio clashed with the Allies again at the Battle of Tassafaronga. On a attempted supply effort to Guadalcanal, the surprised Japanese force reacted quickly when attacked. Oyashio and other japanese destroyers launched a devastating spread of long lance torpedoes. In the confusion of the night battle only her hit on USS Pensacola was confirmed. The bruising defeat hastened US Navy efforts to improve thier night fighting tactics.
What about this? Just tidied a couple of typos and a couple of words.

VALIANT STAND: This unit rolls one extra attack die when making Torpedo attacks against Battleships.

The bruising defeat hastened US Navy efforts to improve their night fighting tactics.
Unsuccessfully attacking USS Washington in the closing stages of the Second Naval battle of Guadalcanal. Only days after, Oyashio again clashed with the Allies at the Battle of Tassafaronga. A confusing night battle as Japanese destroyers were ambushed while trying to deliver supplies to Guadacanal. The Japanese quickly counter attacked. Oyashio is credited with hitting USS Pensacola which was out of service for nearly a year.
Still thinking the initial fluff suggestions further up read better but I've had a go at this latest.
