In 1944 the Australian war cabinet adopted a proposal to assist the Royal Navy with its man power shortages by providing intake to the RAN sufficent to crew a light carrier of the Colossus class and its escorts. The changing fortunes of war meant that a transfer of ships couldn't be agreed with the UK government. Australia would later aquire two Majestic class carriers in the late 40s.

Rich from exporting coffee and rubber in the years leading up to World War I, Brazil bought a modern fleet in Great Britain including the scout cruisers Bahia and Rio Grande do Sul, based off the Royal Navy's Adventure-class. Modernized during the interwar period, Bahia was able to escort convoys with her new anti air and anti submarine weapons. It is believed that during gunnery practice one of these anti aircraft guns was accidentally fired into a depth charge rack, causing the explosion that resulted in the loss of the ship in July 1945.
Entering production in 1937, 125 liore 130's weere built. Able to equip battleships, cruisers and the seaplane carrier commandant teste. Her finest hour was the january 1941 battle of ko chang. Liore's overflew the ancorage reporting to the french squadron outside then made attacks against the siamese fleet

Named after polaris, or the finnish "Polar Bear" Jääkarhu was the largest ice breaker operated by Finland in World War II and remains one of the largest ships of her type ever built. Her great size allowed her to take on a considerable armament in wartime and she fought during the Winter War and the Continuation War alongside Finnish warships and other armed ice breakers. Jääkarhu escorted both merchant convoys and warships in the Baltic and participated in the ill-fated Operation Nordwind. Before the end of war she was handed over to the Soviet Union as a reparation.

Baden was the second and final Bayern-class super-dreadnought of the Imperial German Navy to be completed. The first German class to use 15” guns, Baden became the flagship of the High Seas Fleet. Not originally selected for internment, she was chosen as a substitute for the incomplete battlecruiser Mackensen. She survived the "Grand Scuttle" and was inspected, then expended by the Royal Navy as a gunnery target in 1921. Her counterflooding equipment was found to be more efficient than contemporary British systems. Had she been retained she would have been modernized in line with what other nations did in the interwar period.
First flying in November 1934, Dornier's Do-17 were deployed as part of the Kondor Legion in the spanish civil war. When introduced, the schnell-bomber(fast bomber) outpaced most intercepting fighters. By the battle of britain 1940, the Do-17 was vunerable to better, faster fighters.

In 1940 Koln was fitted with a helicopter landing platform on top of the aft superfiring turret. This could accommodate a single Flettner Fl 282 Kolibri, or Hummingbird, the first series production helicopter. She went into combat in this configuration in Operation Beowulf, a joint German Finnish invasion of the western coast of Estonia designed to destroy any Soviet warships in the area and support the infantry assault. During this operation Koln failed to engage any surface ships but did provide naval gunfire support and survived an encounter with the Soviet submarine Shch-322.
