I'm guessing somewhere between 1200 and 1300.

The stats page has this:

2/6/2 - Witte de With (1316 tons, 36 knots), Vasilissa Olga (1350 tons, 36 knots), Ascari (1690-1820 tons, 38 knots), Gromkiy (1855 tons, 37 knots)
1/6/2 - Matsu (1262 tons, 27.8 knots), T27 (1294 tons, 32.5 knots)

So you're pretty spot on. Somewhere between 1294 and 1316, so 1300 seems like a solid number.

I was hoping for a definitive tonnage, but I see how speed could alter that. What about 1205 tons, 38 knots trial speed in 1931, but 30 knots in reality by 1940, no armour?

Speed does at times make the difference or even the type of construction. I am not a fan of giving fast destroyers armour 1.

Yeah, I get that, but in reality, many Italian ships had ridiculously inflated trial times with strained engines that they were totally unable of achieving by WW2.

When you say "all destroyers" are you using the real world definition or the game definition? There were many fast but tiny 500-600 ton torpedo boats that the game classes as destroyers. I presume you are not including them?
