NAME TBD Carrier Speed 2 Cap 1 Mg 4 4 3 (estimate half cari secs) AA 6 (slightly few than cari)
A4 V10 V4 (-4 on a/v from carricolo)
Stuka operations: as written (ju87b & ju87p) or inclusive of ju87D (+1 Armour,+1 bomb, mines, 1943 entry)
Composite Squadron (new): a unit based on this unit may make a 2 dice asw or gunnery attack, or 5 dice bomb attack instead of its normal attack in the air attack step.
FIGHTER UMBRELLA: Once per turn, you may choose a friendly Fighter that aborted or destroyed an enemy Aircraft this turn. That Fighter may move to a sector it's adjacent to that contains an enemy Aircraft and make an Antiair attack with a -1 on each attack die against that Aircraft.
Is there a particular reason for FIGHTER UMBRELLA? My impression of that SA is it's an attempt to reflect fairly sophisticated fighter direction (air search radars, comms, CIC, etc) found on some of the most modern carriers. This is a pretty early war "covered wagon". Maybe something a little less "wazoo"?
I wish to have no connection with any ship that does not sail fast; for I intend to go in harm's way. - Captain John Paul Jones

Not really. I thought there was a lesser ability but couldn't find it last night
Maybe just an Expert SA? It may seem a bit boring, but the Italians don't have that many options in this area to begin with. Do the Italians have a carrier based Torpedo Bomber that I'm missing?
Potentially a nutty idea as an alternative - an SA that let's it base the Elite Folgore (which has Land Fighter I believe).

Not that i've heard of. My first impression is they'd have too high a landing speed. They had a reputation as tough to fly
The g50(last set) or the re2000 would be the likely early entry fighters.
The cr42 had a single floatplane version made. Thats another option, aligned with gladiator ect.
Overall i see this as unit suited/intended for 1940/41 battles. So maybe, Stuka Operations Freccia Operations (G50 has alt payload) Improvised ASW - Fighters based on this unit may make attacks against submarines using thier gunnery attack (g50 has 2mg)
That fair enough. The wonkiness of as vaules and availability is a known quantity.
Combinging the above, is this a move in the right direction? NAME TBD Carrier Speed 2 Cap 1 Mg 4 4 3 (estimate half cari secs) AA 6 (slightly few than cari)

Freccia Operations - The G.50 Freccia may base on this unit
Improvised ASW - instead of thier normal attack, aircraft based on this unit may make a 2 dice ASW attack in the air attack step
Is this piece truly conjecture? I see you’re spitballing a Hull line. If this is based on a battleship, shouldn’t the armor and vital be higher? Look at Constellation to Lexington or Amagi to Akagi. Those are both battlecruisers turned to carriers.
